Tourism launches the Tourism Quality Award

The Quality Committee held this morning in the City of Orihuela, within the framework of the project of the Tourism Quality System in Destinations SICTED, has approved the implementation of a Tourism Quality Award for recognition of effort and continuous improvement in the tourism sector companies working within the framework of this project at the state level.
Mariola Rocamora, Councillor for Tourism, highlighted the involvement made this year by the companies candidates for distinction extending in some cases the improvements made, “so we considered that these establishments deserve extra recognition in their contribution to the Orihuela destination, expanding services and improving existing ones.
Other approved proposals are related to improvement groups launched as “the Tourist Quality Club, the promotion of new tourism products such as active tourism, new training actions within the module “Know your destination”, promotional campaigns focused on the image and new technologies, an expanded calendar of routes and activities to continue energizing the municipality, as well as concrete actions aimed at improving tourism signage.
Other topics discussed at the table was the holding of a Fam-Trip both in the helmet and on the coast of Orihuela, as well as the assessment of applying evaluations through mystery customers to detect areas for improvement in establishments.

In this session were also assessed all the candidatures presented, which on this occasion amounts to 59 companies in total, divided into the following trades: travel agency, bars and cafes, shops, transportation companies, hotels and tourist apartments, museums, tourist information offices, beaches, marinas, restaurants, public safety and taxis.This Committee has been formed by the President, the Councillor for Tourism, Mariola Rocamora, Angel Murcia, as representative of Turisme ComunitatValenciana, Pedro Mancebo, vice president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Orihuela, Vicente Medina, president of Alcsur, Adolfo Valero president of ACMO and representatives of companies distinguished in the Q installed in the municipalityoriolano.
